Word makes it easy to save and edit documents on Android, so edit your docs to your heart’s content. Once the app finishes the installation process, tap the ‘.doc’ or ‘.docx’ file on your phone, then select Word from the list of apps available.Grab the Microsoft Word app on the Play Store.Google Docs can take care of opening and displaying your files on Android, but if you’d prefer to edit them natively, you can use Microsoft Word for Android. If you’d like to make edits, you should open it in a different app, such as Docs To Go. If you’re simply trying to review the content, opening it in Docs is fine. The document should open in whichever app you choose. You may need to install one of them if nothing comes up to select or reset the default app launcher if you don’t get any options like the image below.
If prompted, open the file in ‘Docs’ (Google Docs) or a different doc/docx file viewer/editor if you have it.
Tap the file you located in step 1 above to open it. Use Google Drive, your email, or another service to find the Word document. To permanently replace those fonts in this document, tap Resolve Font Warnings, then tap Resolve. If you want to see which fonts are missing and which replacement fonts are being used, tap Show. When you open a Pages document that uses fonts that you don’t have, a missing font notification appears briefly at the top of the page. If you don’t see at the top of the screen, then the document is already in editing view. In reading view you can view content and perform basic tasks in the document, but to make any changes, you must switch to editing view. To make changes to the document, you may need to tap at the top of the screen.ĭocuments you receive from someone may open in reading view. If you don’t see the document you want to open, try searching for it, or tap the link in the top-left corner to browse Recents or a different location. Open Pages, and if a document is already open, tap Documents in the top-left corner to see all your documents. Restore an earlier version of a document. Export to Word, PDF, or another file format.
